My name is Reilly Byron, a junior student planning to graduate in 2028. I currently hold the position of Multimedia Editor for the Butler Collegian, our university's student-run newspaper. In addition to my multimedia journalism work, I am a video editor for Butler's student-run communications agency, Five Fountains.

I first developed a passion for broadcast journalism my sophomore year of high school, when I reported for McHenry High School's Warrior Weekly. I continued to create multimedia packages throughout the entirety of my high school years, and — upon becoming a Butler Bulldog in 2024 — I immediately joined the Collegian as a Multimedia Reporter. Since then, I have created dozens of multimedia packages and continue to make more every week.

In addition to my positions at the Butler Collegian and Five Fountains, I am the president of Butler's Association for Women in Sports (B-AWS) and Be the Voice organizations. B-AWS is focused on advocating for women interested in sports entertainment careers — a field that is vastly male-dominated. Be the Voice is an mental health organization partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Besides advocating for mental health, my sole responsibility is to plan our annual fundraising event, the Out of the Darkness Walk.
